Aisha in Athens

I will be heading to Athens in April with Medical Volunteers International (MVI) to volunteer as a medic. My work there will revolve around filling the healthcare gaps where needed for refugees and locals alike. Currently the majority of patients are Syrian, Afghani, Pakistani, Iraqi and Iranian.

MVI is a fantastic organisation that provides medical care to more than 4,000 people a month! Unfortunately,  work is still needed as thousands of People on the Move (PoM) remain stranded at European borders. Neither the border countries nor the European Union is guaranteeing access to health care. To continue their work across Greece and Bosnia as well as expanding to the Balkan Route and Polish-Belarus border, financial support is essential. This means that MVI can continue to pay for translators and local coordinators, cover expenses for medicines and logistics on site.
