Fund Managers walk for PATRIZIA school in Uganda

What we’re doing: 

Together with colleagues from PATRIZIA, Ben, Duncan, Jae, Luke, Mischa, Radu and Simon will embark on a demanding 47-kilometer hike over two days across 24 peaks, including England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, in the Lake District National Park.  Over the two days we will climb over 3 kms, that’s the equivalent of 1,200 flights of stairs!!! 

 

Who we’re doing it for: 

PATRIZIA School Buyamba in Uganda is a primary school for children between ages 7 and 14 constructed in 2010 with the support of the PATRIZIA Foundation in one of the world’s poorest nations. 

 

The school has been closed since 20th March 2020 due to Covid-19.  The students haven’t received any education since and haven’t had access to school meals either that many families relied upon. 

 

The school facilities are currently not suitable for operation and significant work needs to happen to bring them back to a minimum standard before the school can open again. 

 

It desperately needs more classrooms to provide learning space for a pupil count that’s grown from 500 to 860.  The school also requires necessary adjustments to be implemented to enable the school to re-open safely with Covid-19 measures in place.

What we hope to achieve with your help: 

We are aiming to collect at least £100,000 

 

The donations will be used to renovate the existing classrooms, dormitories, toilets and sanitary facilities. Furthermore, two outdoor classrooms with shading and a rainwater collection system will be constructed.  In addition to implementing necessary Covid-19-precautions.  PATRIZIA and participants are funding the event so all donations go to the project. 

 

Education is the key to a better life.  Our goal is to give children and young people access to education. 

 

Help us so we can give the children of Buyamba the chance to return to school!!
