Sickness should not tear the heart out of a family. Tungalag Batmukh was born on January 1st, 1961 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. She studied in Mongolia before graduating from a University in Germany. As the eldest child, she grew up helping her parents raise her five siblings from an early age, doing house chores and more. Tungalag set an example for the younger ones and has always been the one they’ve looked up to. Today Tungalag is a hardworking, meticulous and diligent mother of two daughters. She is also grandmother to two beautiful young grandchildren whom she loves dearly, and cares for and educates with her wise words. It is said that a sickness does not come with an announcement. Tungalag was diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer (neuroendocrine tumor, high grade) in August 2020 and has been through six chemotherapy sessions so far. She now needs to continue her treatment in South Korea, as the Mongolian health system does not currently have the necessary treatment options. We are sincerely asking for your emotional and financial assistance in curing this serious illness and overcoming this difficult time. When one person in a family gets sick, the family’s life almost stops. In Mongolia, it is the family’s responsibility to take care of and support the sick. This makes it extremely difficult to continue working and carrying on with life as normal – there are many hardships and problems along this journey. Nevertheless, Tungalag and her family are fighting together with doctors, nurses and other family and friends. This is a time that we must overcome altogether. As the family are dedicating everything they can to save their mother, the financial and emotional burdens are increasing every day. We are kindly asking for your help to save Tungalag.
