2020 in 2020

Since I started running I thought about applying the concept of the „Sponsorenlauf“ we did in school to my marathon trainings and thus do good while I roll through my runs. This year I plan on running a total of 2020 km. For every km I run this year I will donate a fixed amount to NETZ Bangladesh’ project „Changing climate - planting trees“. This is the organisation we already collected donations for in school, with our „Sponsorenlauf”. The project addresses several causes that are very dear to me.

First, tackling climate change, in my opinion the biggest challenge for the next decades, if we want to conserve a hospitable planet for later generations of humans and other beings.

Second, helping those who suffer most, already now, from the effects of climate change. Unfortunately these people tend to be among the worst off globally.

Leading to Third, helping people born in less fortunate circumstances to better their living conditions in a sustainable way. For me it is an important aspect that the people receiving help get the support to better their economic situation in order to become independent of the help itself.
