The Hurricanes - "Right to Learn" in Sierra Leone

The Hamburg Hurricanes is an English speaking, multicultural football team made up of expats and internationally, open minded people. As a club we have chosen to support Street Child as our official charity for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. We will be supporting Street Child in their "Right to Learn" project in Sierra Leone and Liberia. 

Street Child work in some of the poorest countries in the world in order to fund and provide opportunities for children to access an education and in turn help them develop their communities and provide for their families in the future. Our aim is to raise a minimum of 3500 EUR to send 100 children to school for a year. We will use a variety of means to raise funds during the season such as collecting loose change from our members, donations at matches, sponsored runs, sponsored football matches, auctions and anything else we can think of to hit our target. We will also look to obtain, collect and donate football kits, footballs and other equipment to donate to existing schools in Sierra Leone in order to improve the schools status in the eyes of national government which in turn will lead to more investment and not to mention getting more children into sport and helping to develop social skills.
