Worum es geht
Dear everybody,
on the 27th of September I will add another memorable event to my life: I am going to dare to participate in TOUGH MUDDER in Winchester, UK (https://toughmudder.co.uk) and will try to survive 20km and 20 obstacles.
And since I think doing it for my own passion and craziness is not enough, I would also like to use this opportunity to raise money for a non-profit organization, which I worked for and which is near and dear to me:
The FELIX BURDA FOUNDATION (http://www.felix-burda-foundation.com/) is a non-profit organization, based in my hometown Munich, Germany, sees its main task in creating public awareness for the potential benefits of prevention and the early detection of colorectal cancer. The Foundation also supports individual financially, who are suffering from colon-cancer and has an annual FELIX BURDA AWARD rewarding innovative ideas and solutions to companies and individuals for colon-cancer prevention. Colorectal Cancer is besides skin and cervical cancer the only type of cancer which can be prevented by almost by 100% (at this point in time!) and still, Colorectal Cancer cancer has the second highest incidence and mortality rates of all cancers in Europe (450.000 new cases and 215.000 fatalities each year). Imagine, none of the 450.000 people would actually have to suffer from this cancer and none of the 215.000 would have to die using the prevention given at this time.
Help me support this foundation so that hopefully one day no one has to suffer and die of colon-cancer anymore.
And if you need more encouragement to make up our mind if you should donate or how much you would donate - just picture me how I will look whilst:
- crawling under barbwire in the deep mud
- getting also electrocuted whilst robbing
- jumping and diving into ice-water
- desperately trying to climb over a 3meter wall
- getting electrocuted again
- generally dragging myself from kilometre to kilometre and from obstacle to obstacle
If that doesn't make you want to spend all your available money, than I don't know what else will.
I hope that we can raise as much money as possible and I thank you already for any support given and any amount donated! Every pence counts!
