GIRLS AND SINGLE YOUNG MOTHERS PROJECT

About me
I am a 26yrs old young mother of two working as a program Director with an NGO based in Kibera- the biggest informal settlement in Kenya/Nairobi. I have a passion of community service that has driven me to volunteer as the program director and that has enabled us to change lives by bringing hope to young and single mothers,We run a project on women issues,e.g women rights,Girl child mentor ship program in Kibera slums.
Kibera is characterized with high rates of rights violations, poverty, HIV infection and unemployment. Girls and young mothers are the prime group experiencing and facing all this challenges.
It is in this line that I request for support to help better our services and scale up in order to reach and help rescue more girls and young mothers who are survivors of rights violation,school drop outs due to early pregnancies and ,infection with HIV/AIDS.I work under a registered non-profit organization called Beyond the bridge vision in KENYA,If I can get enough funds,would work hard to change more lives by building a vocational center for girls who faced early school drop out,start up a micro finance program to help empower women economically by putting up their own businesses,facilitation of mentor ship program by women who are successful in life(Role models) and support girl child education in rural and urban slum areas.
By doing all these I will be able to create sustainability project since the girls and women will become independent hence stop prostitution and abortions since this is very high in the slum areas and has also resulted into early deaths and high rise in numbers of orphans and vulnerable children.Therefore will highly appreciate any contributions towards changing lives of the impoverished.
