    About this project

    J. SSENYONDO from CHILDLINE UGANDA is responsible for this project
Today for Tommorrow Project was founded by a volunteer from Omprakash foundation, it aims at equipping children and young people with the necessary skills for staying safe. This programme is also adoptable for OVC,as it will educate and empower them with skills such as the skills of assertiveness, building personal self esteem, being affirmation responsible, maintaining good character. During the programme, the children participate in different life skills programme and activities such as role plays, dramas and skits, miming etc. Currently the programme has 1staff and 1 volunteer, children in this programme are supported and cared for and their families, children are supported with counseling and care, home and school visits, adherence monitoring to promote good adherence to drugs, supporting these HIV positive children with scholastic materials (like books, pencils, pens and others) in order to stay in school, supporting these children with life skills, bible lessons, skits (short plays), plays, health talks (positive living), reducing stigma and discrimination among these children through psychosocial support and counseling and also involving them in dance, drama and other games. the biggest challenges are we lack space to accommodate these children during the activities, we use a room that was given to us by a friend, but we always get problems with utilising it, never around, he cames late to open, so we have no oportion at all we have to weight, feeding these children during these activities, we lack finance to support them at school, some come from very far, so they require transportation
