Donations for Philips Hospital Bills in Ghana

Philip is the third born child of his parents and lives, since the father left the family, with his mother and three siblings in a village called Awutu Mfafo in Ghana's Central Region, where he attends school. 

Philip has not been in the best of his health since birth, but his family could not afford any medical treatment for him due to their financial situation. His health suffered under the family’s conditions and got worse over time due to the shortage of a balanced diet and clean drinking water. The Ascites evolved from malnutrition as one of the main factors.

Williams Yirenkyi, the founder of the Ghanaian NGO Inspire Global Ideas, happened to notice Philip whiles he was visiting a neighboring village and immediately decided to befriend him. The same day Philip was taken to a nearby hospital for a first checkup. A few days later he was admitted to a hospital in the nearest town Agona Swedru for further medical examination.

The first diagnosis at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital showed, that Philip suffers from a congenital disease, called Morbus Hirschsprung.
The disease is treated in two steps, firstly the colostomy, which Philip already had in September last year, as can be seen in the pictures.
The second part is the surgery planned for April 2021, where the diseased part of his gut has to be removed. Currently, we collect funds for the second surgery.
The incidental costs include, among other things, transport costs, provision, and primary costs for medical treatment.
