“The Fundamental Views” is the English title of the Dalai Lama's monumental and visionary two-volume work, which was published in Tibetan in December 2016. It is based on the teachings given by His Holiness over the past decades.
It all began more than 10 years ago, when H. H. the Dalai Lama asked his long-time confidant, the spiritual director of Tibet House Germany in Frankfurt, H. E. Dagyab Rinpoche, to take on the mammoth task of compiling this work. Rinpoche worked intensively on it for more than ten years. He travelled to Dharamsala several times to review and edit the text in detail with His Holiness, as well as Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, Yangteng Rinpoche and Geshe Thubten Jinpa.
These two volumes contain the essential thoughts of the Dalai Lama being his contribution to central issues of humanity. The Introduction and Summary
