Innovation Empowerment Programme through its ‘One Hen Campaign Project‘  recommends that one of the best ways out of the growing problem of poverty is by training  those with very little on how to build their own income streams, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and essentially become masters of their own destiny. IEP advances a micro-loan in form of a hen and a cage to each member in registered women, youth   and other vulnerable groups. After 6 months one surrenders 2 chicks (once) to the programme for onward lending to other groups and sustainability of the project. The hen and the cage creates a platform for IEP to train the farmers on poultry management (Local Hen), Agribusiness, Value chain analysis, entrepreneurship and appropriate technology. IEP through the one hen campaign project is informed that for the most careless farmer given one hen (local hen) for a whole year, it will yield 100 hens. What about the most careful farmer? How about this?
