Climathon Mannheim 2019 • promote climate projects

In a world where information is power, hopefully 2019 will be the year the world finally realizes that we need to do something about global warming. A serious change of course from all of us is necessary! That is why we see it as our duty - as citizens of Planet Earth - to do everything in our power to help solve this global problem and make a difference. We do not just want to talk about sustainability, but try to see what technology can do to combat climate change. This is why Hackerstolz and the City of Mannheim are hosting the Climathon in cooperation with Climate-KIC.

"Hackathon" ("Hack" + "Marathon") is an event where teams of programmers*, designers* and theme specialists come together to develop digital products such as apps, web platforms or analysis tools in a limited time frame. The Climathon is above all a hackathon in which the focus is only on the climatic challenges. For 40 hours, up to 30 teams have the opportunity to develop prototypes for digital solutions. The best teams will be awarded project grants instead of the usual prizes so that their ideas can become reality and have the highest possible impact.
