About this project

The WDCA will continue in 2023 in Vilnius and Germany.
The competition to commemorate the murdered Jewish musician Wolf Durmashkin continues the commemoration work on the theme "Music and the Holocaust".
The occasion in 2018 was the DP orchestra's 70th-anniversary concert on 10 May 1948 in Landsberg. Now the competition is taking place in Vilnius, Lithuania, to commemorate life and suffering, resistance, and hope.
But also to look into the future, into a common future. That is why composers all over the world are invited to accompany this perspective with their works and let us all participate in their music.
BACKGROUND
With the competition and a concert, we would like to commemorate the murdered and forgotten Jewish musician Wolf Durmashkin and thus initiate a new kind of culture of remembrance of the history of National Socialism and the Holocaust.
EVENTS AND WORLD PREMIERES
The premiere will take place in 2023 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
