VISIONEERS is a non-profit organization, which was created at the beginning of 2015 and is dedicated to serving socially disadvantaged teenagers with the help of local staff and an international team of volunteers.
One of the most important projects is the work with young refugees who arrived in Germany in 2015 in search of protection and new opportunities. Most of them are teenagers and young adults who arrived without their families and are facing a difficult process of adaptation to a culture that is very different. Additionally, they have to learn the German language to communicate effectively.
VISIONEERS offers a safe space for recreation and learning, and is interested in the teenagers’ personal, educational and professional growth.
My contribution will be to provide support in each of the activities that are being carried out daily in the organization for these young people, such as music classes, help with homework, creative projects, cooking, and many others.
I came to Germany through the weltwärts program. 75% of my stay is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and 25% have to o be collected through donations and fundraising
The amount that has to be raised is € 3,000, which is used for transportation, accommodation and all other daily expenses of my one-year stay. This is a great opportunity to help others and I think that together we do it better.
