Our association Bintumani D-SL (www.bintumani.de) has been active in Sierra Leone (West Africa) for 20 years. Again and again we notice that the energy situation, especially in the countryside, is desolate. 90% of the people have no connection to an electricity grid! In order to be able to build decentralised renewable energy plants, the country needs the appropriate specialists. This is where we come in. We are currently in the process of establishing an information and training centre for sustainable energies. Together with the barefoot women solar engineers in Konta Line (Sierra Leone).
For the training modules: - Photovoltaics - solar thermal energy - bioenergy (biogas) - wind power - water power - mechanical energies are teaching media that can be reproduced on site. For the construction of small decentralised energy plants, workshops for electrical, metal and wood technology must be set up.
