Car or bike? Ongoing urbanization and an increasing traffic density pose more and more problems for our society. From June 29th to July 5th we would like to discuss the topic mobility with students from all over the world in Karlsruhe.

Our cities are bursting at the seams. Ongoing urbanization and an increasing traffic density pose more and more problems for our society. Air pollution is one of them. But how big is this problem in particular and what can we do in order to solve it?

What’s this project about?

The TWIN is a one-week conference in Karlsruhe with about 50 participants from all over the world. From 29th June to 5th July we want to look at mobility from a new perspective. As a traffic participant each of us has to deal with the topic and is probably upset if he’s stuck in traffic. But what will change in the future? Will no one own a car anymore and just take the train or will driverless (electric) cars take over?
In workshops, lectures and excursions we want to draw attention to the topic and discuss it together. The conference will be topped off by some fun activities.

What do we want to achieve?

We would like to give young students an insight into the topic of mobility and raise awareness of the problem. At the same time our participants should learn to cope with people from different cultural backgrounds. Experience has shown that the concept works fine. During the conference not only discussions and ideas arise but many new friendships are born.

How can you support us?

The TWIN Conference has been taking place for 55 years now and offers students the opportunity to personally develop themselves. Most of the time project expenses of around 5000 € are expected. Travel costs and meals are the biggest part of the expenses. That's a huge amount of money to be raised. While about half the amount is financed from participation fees, the other half has to be donated. And this is where you come in. No matter if you are an AIESEC alumnus or have never heard of us. We and especially our participants are happy to accept your donation.
