“A COMMUNITY OF UNITY”

In August of 1998, a young Newlywed couple left New York for a new life in faraway Offenbach, Germany. The move was with the goal to strengthen the Jewish life in the local community and region and to be a support in every way necessary. Its nearly 20 years since Rabbi Gurewitz and his wife Rivkah have arrived to Offenbach and are serving as Rabbinical leadership and Shluchim of the Lubavitcher

Rebbe to this community and region.

 

Offenbach serves as an inspiring example for long-term successful and uneventful cooperation between the local Jewish community, Jewish Federation and CHABAD. Here, there is no place for division. Every Jew in Offenbach, regardless of his background and tradition feels valued and elevated. In Offenbach multi-Jewish-culturalism is celebrated and all Jewish traditions all melded in peaceful harmony.

Far and wide, Offenbach has become famous for its special warmth and energy. This special “Offenbach Aura” is confirmed by people of all faiths from across the globe who have passed through the Offenbach community. Precisely for this reason, in celebration of this 20 year jubilee of successful cooperation in the community, a fundraising campaign is being launched to purchase an urgently needed new Torah scroll for the Offenbach community. 

The Torah scroll will be presented by Chabad Offenbach as a gift to the Jewish

community of Offenbach.

This campaign is the perfect symbol to celebrate the special unity of our

community and our nation.
