The “Centar za mesance”, a castration centre as well as a shelter for strays, is located within reach of the city centre of Belgrade. For more than 10 years the clinic is a partner of the ETN. The “Centar” is often the last chance for help for homeless and abandoned animals. Especially in winter, the strays of Belgrade suffer from hunger and a merciless cold. Thus, the small castration centre, again and again, becomes a place of refuge for straying dogs and cats, which take shelter from snow and coldness in the backyard of the house.
The clinic is furthermore the contact for animal rights activists in Belgrade since strays and animals from shelters are neutered and treated in the “Centar” for free. More than 1.000 animals can be neutered per year - a respectable achievement and an invaluable contribution to animal protection in the capital of Serbia!
The castration centre of Belgrade provides help for dogs and cats, which are found injured in the streets, for puppies which would perish by cold in winter, for old and sick animals which are not wanted by anyone.
Several times the ETN supported the clinic by financing castrations and renovations of the building. In October 2017, a wide-scale neutering campaign was conducted in order to treat as many animals as possible before the beginning of winter.
With your donation, the castration centre in the heart of Belgrade can continue its work for the poorest of all animals in Serbia. With your help animal protection in Belgrade gets a chance!
