Malnutrition as well as a lack of food are omnipresent in wide parts of rural India. Many families are too poor to provide more than one meal a day. Although many children go to school, they often have to work after it to earn money to support their parents. Most of them do not eat throughout the day and get soup and bread only for dinner at home.
Pilgrim Vision e.V. distributes Food Packs in the rural villages of Rajasthan. The bags are filled with bananas, apples, wholewheat biscuits, nuts, sandwiches and juices. We distribute a warm lunch to the children as well, mostly veg biryani or veg pulav. It is important for us that the children get a nutritious, healthy and rich in vitamins meal during their school days. With workshops, open talks, and educational programs we try to establish a platform where communities can get information about healthy nutrition. We show them sustainable and affordable ways and options to improve their living conditions.
