On the 2nd of June yearly Christopher Street Day (CSD) takes place in Karlsruhe. Beside supporting programme and the parade itself the family party on the Stephanplatz is the central event on this "holiday" for the community. However, the family party does not finance itself by itself: many voluntary donators strengthen us the back and secure the financial risk.
Organizer of the party is this year for the first time the charitable association Karlsruhe CSD e.V. in own direction. Even if we earn no profit with the party: in spite of urban subsidy, income of Gastro states and sponsors a not unimportant financial risk remains. What if the weather is not the best? If unpredictable costs come up to us or income is lost? Also you would find it surely unfortunate if the association went bankrupt and we would have to renounce during the next years the CSD. To put here the foundation-stone for a long-standing row of successful CSDs in Karlsruhe we need a certain financial upholsterer. Also you can help with a donation that we can celebrate this year and during the following years again together and demonstrate efficiently.
As the background: What means CSD and what lies behind? The CSD is celebrated all over the world (beyond Germany often as "a Pride" or “Pride of parade” called) in the memory of the uprisings of 1969 in the queer bar Stonewall Inn in Christopher Street in New York. Meanwhile the CSD is a holiday and demonstration day of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, Transgendern, Asexuellen and queer people.
To be able to carry out the CSD in Karlsruhe in this and during the coming years securely we, the association Karlsruhe CSD e.V., ask for your financial support. Then, primarily, your donations flow into the financing of this year's party CSD.
