    About this project

    C. Wohlwill from Assoziation Freier Gesellschaftsfunk AFF e.V. is responsible for this project
    – THIS FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN AIMS TO ENABLE REFUGEE JOURNALISTS TO TAKE PART IN THE ANNUAL RADIOCAMP AT LAKE CONSTANCE, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE FROM MAY 24 THROUGH 28, 2017 NEAR MARKELFINGEN –

The radio camp in Markelfingen, Germany is a annual gathering of activists and journalists from community radios in the entire German-speaking region. They gather for exchange and media education, for networking and to learn together and from each other.
The radio camp is one of the recurring events, that the AFF hosts in pursuit of better and more critical media literacy in our societies.
In the past years, refugee editorial teams have formed at different radio stations across Germany and Europe. These editorial teams are doing excellent work, talking to other refugees, migrants and the resident population about any number of social, cultural and political topics. They come from lots of different countries and speak lots of different languages on the air.
But they are still quite regionally organised, not having a lot of opportunity to have an exchange with their peers from other cities. The radio camp would be an ideal place for editors from anywhere to gather and exchange ideas.
The problem is, that most of the refugee journalists are still in an "asylum" status and don't have the financial means to travel to such an event. So to invite them to join us, we need your help in paying for their travel, board and lodging as well as for translators to help us communicate.
