The NGO „Bäume für Menschen – Trees for the World“ runs a kindergarten for the dumping ground children of Okahandja (Namibia).
Until today, already 16 children are subscribed in our kindergarten. But we are planning two groups consisting of 10 -15 children. For the future, we have additional plans to build an orphanage for AIDS-orphans to give them a protected home and the better perspective for the future. To provide accommodation for guests, visitors and godparents, we have plans of constructing a guest house.
In this way, guests can join the children and our staff on their daily activities.
These children live under disastrous conditions near the brink of a dumping ground in Namibia. They live in simple huts, build out of waste products and crawling with insects. Most of the children are orphans or are left alone with only their mother being unable to take care of them. They look for food in the dumping ground and often suffer from fatal diseases like Malaria, Diarrhea or HIV.
Our goal is to help these children and offer them the opportunity for a better future. In 2011, “Bäume für Menschen – Trees for the World” bought an old farm near Okahandja/Namibia. The whole building was refurbished and is now serving as a kindergarten for the poorest of the poor. It is a place where the children learn that their lives are worth living. They are accepted for who they are and encouraged to grow (not only their bodies, but also their personalities). Warm meals are provided, as well as access to clear drinking water. It is probably the first time in their young lives where they can only be, what they are: children!
To offer this help, we are need your support! Our kindergarten consists already of 16 children. To maintain this kindergarten and to enlarge it, to be able to pay for the enlargement, the salaries of the staff, the food etc. we depend on your donations.
For all that, for the dumping ground children of Okahandja, we need your support!
