WINGS FOR NEPAL - Hope for the forgotten children is a volunteering project, aimed at helping disadvantaged orphans in Kathmandu (Nepal). After the earthquake in 2015 we aim to help our young friends to build a self - determined life.

After the earthquake on April 25th, 2015 many Nepalese became homeless - among them the orphans of the Paropakar Orphanage in Kathmandu, that has been destroyed during the terrible event. Some of the children found hospitality in nearby orphanages while others were not offered this possibility due to lack of space. In the photo, you can see 11 boys who still needed a place to live. After a few weeks of living under a tarpaulin they contacted us on Facebook to ask for help.
We are a group of five Germans, which volunteered several months in Kathmandu before the earthquake and still kept in touch with the children we worked with. Working with the orphans gave us the possibility to profoundly know and become friends with each of them. This is the reason why we want to continue our support in the current crisis.
In order to do this and also to motivate more people to engage for this cause we founded “WINGS FOR NEPAL – HOPE FOR THE FORGOTTEN CHILDREN”. With this project we provide the boys with the money to pay their school or tuition fees, an apprenticeship, rent and food. We aim to provide them with the necessary to build a foundation for their future lives.
Nevertheless, while already starting to support the 11 boys, the situation became more severe. After their school graduation this year, eight more boys will have to leave the orphanages, where they found hospitality. Without any future prospects in the current still very chaotic situation for Nepal, the future of those boys is precarious. Our small group of volunteers alone cannot provide the necessary financial resources to extent the support for more people – but with your help this will be possible!
The full amount of your donation will be directly given to the boys. There is no organisation in between and we don’t charge any administrative fees. The charge for the transfer of the money is privately paid by us.
With your donation you give our boys a basis from which they can build a self-determined life and participate in small scale to help the young citizens of Nepal.
