The New School Building in the Heart of Hathiyar

The construction of the new school building in the heart of Hathiyar, a small village close to Bodh Gaya, was a true spectacle. People from the whole area came together to see this important event. Now, the AOZORA School has its own school building. 

With the help of our donators, Bildung für Bodh Gaya e.V. supported this milestone. Now there is enough space to learn, read and play for double as many pupils. Furthermore, the donations, which used to cover the rent, can be utilized for more important purposes and investments. 

Opposed to the public and private schools in the region, the AOZORA school offers all children a free education, regardless of their socio-economic background. Therefore, the new location of the building is so important. 

Hathiyar is predominantly inhabited by the “Dalit”, people who have no caste and are regarded as belonging to the lowest social class in India. The people here live mostly in poor conditions. While earning their wage on the fields they experience strong societal exclusion. 

The new building allows the children of these families to enjoy education from the nursery school up to the 7th class of the AOZORA school. 

We are happy that the new school building not only turned into the new home of the orphans and half-orphans of the AOZORA School, but also plays a central role for the future of the families in Hathiyar.
