About this project

The Rowing Club Wilhelmsburg is a traditional rowing club in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg: 120 members, half of them are still going on rowing. The district is Aßmannkanal, Jaffe-Kanal, Dove-Elbe and Ernst-August-Kanal, overall 13 Kilometer.

Our boats are very old and poor, the financial situation is bad and the club is on the line. For a quarter like Wilhelmsburg, a so-called No-Go-Area the liquidation of the club would be a heavy loss. The club was founded in 1885 and is a focus point of the quarter.

To stop this situation, we have startes to renew our boats an try to get a new one, specially a skiff for our older (and elder) rowers to get them safe in the boat and let them have fun and recreation on the water furthermore.

Our membership fee is very low. So we can't finance new boats. Especially because our rowing house is damaged too and it takes a lot of hours to rebuild it. We do it for our own, but we can't construct boats. So we have to dream of them. But with your help this dream could be true.
