About this project

In the region of Rojava, northern Syria, the healthcare system is prostrated. In consequence of the continuing civil war the major part of the medical staff fled the catastrophe or died while remaining in the country.
On site volunteers try to fill the gap and accomplish execeptional.
The volunteers are working day by day under strenuous conditions, with not standardised equipment and material, to enforce and widen the reach of first aid service. Since September 2014 CADUS is sending medical teams to the region, mainly to support the hospital of Serekaniye.
While Europe is searching for a solution of the refugee crisis within their respective countries, CADUS attempts to fight the very reasons to flee the country within Syria. Its aim is to provide the people, who don’t want to leave or are not capable of doing so, with indispensable lifesaving necessities.
Together with the regional cooperation partner Heyva Sor a Kurd (the Kurdish Red Crescent) CADUS educates and trains Syrian volunteers to work in the medical staff force, more specific as paramedics.
The education is segmented in seven different modules which consist out of eight to ten day trainings each.
Modul 1: Polytrauma Care I (already funded)

Modul 2: Polytrauma Care II (already funded)

Modul 3: Paediatric/Gynecological Emergencies (already funded)

Modul 4: Internistic/Neurological Emergencies

Modul 5: Hygiene and Epidemic Prevention (especially concerning refugee camps)

Modul 6: Care Assistant in the Hospital, Management Emergency Room

Modul 7: Repeating/Summarizing

The first three modules are already funded through Crowdfunding. Help us, so we can carry out all the modules in the upcoming year.
