"Lower Wonjoku Community" Water Supply

We are 3 students in the course of studying "Water Resource Management" at the University of Applied Forest Sciences in Rottenburg, Germany. We want to build a water supply for the Lower Wonjoku Community in Cameroon.

The ambition is to supply the 700 inhabitants counting Lower Wonjoku Community
with drinking water and simultaneously provide short transportation routes to the
consumers. On this the already for manual water withdrawal used source is to be
framed with a catchment with an inclusive water-filter. A (later on extendible) system
of pipes transports the drinking water, under usage of a natural slope, from the
source to a central tapstation by gravity . It will be highly emphasized to arrange the
project with simple technic installments to minimize fault liability and within this
supply deficits.
With this project a sustainable drinking water supply is to be assured and, due to a
rapid increase of population in the Buea South West Region especially in the rural
areas and a poor infrastucture, a wide effect on social and economic integration of
the people is to be created. Exceedingly important is furthermore to produce quality
awareness about the living conditions of the residents in Lower Wonjoku to reduce
rural depopulation and rather enable migration to this area from the environs.
