    About this project

    S. Wilkinson from Ashoka Ireland is responsible for this project
    THE CHALLENGE

Venture capitalist Steven Wilkinson has chosen his next adventure: a walk in support of changemakers in Ireland. His challenge is to:

    1. Walk 550km across Southern Ireland
    2. Raise €50,000 in the process to help support changemakers who are working to solve social issues in Ireland

AND he has pledged to match every €1 that is donated on this website – so every €1 donated will be doubled!

    THE MAN, THE DOG

An avid outdoorsman, Steven’s passion for walking has led him across beautiful landscapes. Inspired by the support and interest he gathered by blogging about his past walks, he vowed to repeat the experience. Steven and his wife Britta moved to Dublin with their 4 children in February 2015, and Steven quickly decided that a walk across Ireland would be the perfect way to discover his new home.

Beginning on April 16th Steven will walk over 550km, starting in Waterville, on the Kerry peninsula, finishing up in Temple Bar, Dublin City. His route takes him through the Kerry Way, the Duhallow and Avondhu Way, through East Munster and South Leinster, before embarking through the Wicklow Way. Keeping him company, Steven will be joined by his 7-year-old Irish Setter, Stella!

    THE CHANGEMAKERS

Whether in education, healthcare or environment, Steven is passionate about supporting changemakers: people who are enacting positive change in society. At various points on his journey, Steven will be joined by changemakers of all ages, from primary school children to budding entrepreneurs and social innovators. He will chronicle his daily experiences and tell the stories of those he meets on his blog: www.peregrinations.eu

Steven is challenging himself to raise €50,000 for the nonprofit organisation Ashoka Ireland. As an incentive, he has pledged a 1:1 match donation by his company Buchanan Investment Group, doubling the value of every donation.
