Am 20.02.2015 wurde den Bewohner_innen der Gerhardt-Hauptmann-Schule in Berlin eine Räumungsanordnung für das Gebäude übergeben. Darin werden die seit 2012 dort lebenden Geflüchteten aufgefordert, die Schule bis zum 19.03.2015 zu verlassen.
Schon im Sommer 2014 wurde versucht die Schule zu räumen. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit gingen tausende Menschen dagegen auf die Straße und verhinderten so gemeinsam mit den Menschen in der Schule die Räumung. Die Solidarität der Anwohner_innen und Unterstützer_innen war überwältigend und hat gezeigt, dass die Schule ein fester und gewollter Bestandteil der Nachbarschaft ist. Sie ist Symbol und Ort der Kämpfe von Geflüchteten für ihre Rechte in ganz Deutschland und weltweit!
Während der Proteste im Sommer unterzeichneten Bezirk und Bewohner_innen Vereinbarungen über das Wohn- und Nutzungsrecht der Geflüchteten und die Errichtung eines International Refugee Center. Die aktuelle Räumungsanordnung stellt den endgültigen Bruch mit diesen Vereinbarungen dar. Den Bewohner_innen droht die Obdachlosigkeit. Das International Refugee Center als selbstorganisierter Ort sozialer, kultureller und politischer Vernetzung von Geflüchteten würde mit einer Räumung verhindert werden.
Deswegen werden die Bewohner_innen der Gerhardt-Hauptmann-Schule gemeinsam rechtlich gegen die Räumungsanordnung vorgehen. Um die dabei entstehenden Anwalts- und Gerichtskosten zu decken braucht es Geld.

Am 19.März sollen die Bewohner_innen die Schule verlassen!!!

On 20 Feb. 2015, the people of Gerhart-Hauptmann-Schule in Kreuzberg received an eviction notice. The letter orders the refugees, who live here since 2012, to leave the school until 19 March 2015. In Summer 2014, the District failed to evict the school, because thousands of people went to the streets and protested against the police while the occupants resisted. Neighbors and supporters everywhere showed overwhelming solidarity and demonstrated that the neighborhood wants the school to stay. It is a symbol and a stronghold for refugees struggling for their rights – in Germany and worldwide!
As a result of the 2014 protests, the district administration signed agreements with the refugees, promising they could stay in the school and build an international refugee center. This renewed eviction order is the final breach of these agreements. The refugees will end up homeless. An eviction would abort the international refugee center and any hopes of social, cultural & political organization of refugees.
Therefore, the people from the school want to fight toegether legally against eviction – and lawyers and courts cost money!
