Chantiik Taj Tajinkutik (that in english means: learning by playing) is a Non-Governmental Organization in San Cristóbal de las Casas, in the south of Mexico.
This project enables marginalized indigenous kids, that have been moved to San Cristobal de Las Casas, to attend classes for six months to let them achieve knowledge for a decent and healthy life. The 8-23 years-old students attend classes from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 3pm and aquire practical knowledge through bakery, table service and computer workshops, as well as classes of English, rights and values, assertive communication, history and mathematics.
The vulnerability faced by these minorities pushes the families to make their kids work in the streets as hawkers in order to earn a living and feed themselves, limiting a real access to their childhood rights, thus seriously restraining their opportunities to secure a decent life. We try to avoid it supporting them with a 40$ monthly attendance grant per student in order to sustain him/her basic needs and provide him/her a healthy breakfast. In this way families'students let them attend our classes as they earn a bit of money and at the same time they receive education in a safe place. We know that intervening during early stages of development is key to a kid's long-term success and woll dramatically improve their opportunities economically, socially, and in terms of education, empowering him/her and allowing him/her to raise out of poverty and marginalization by providing at the same time family wealth and a healthy and safe environment where he/she can learn the skills needed to become integrated and dignified adult. But there is always the need for that 40$ monthly attendance grant that will enable them to attend classes.

Sadly our organization is in big economic problems, therefore we cannot afford providing the monthly allowance grant to our 20 students. As a consequence at the moment we find ourselves without students.
Together we can secure classes for the next six months, this is why we are asking you to take action with Chantiik and donate.

Thank You very much to make this possible!
