Bolivia is still a classic developing country. The infrastructure is wretched, there are only a few paved roads. The rural poverty drives many families to the big cities of the country. But even in the city life is hard for them. Some children have to support their parents financially and work on the streets of major cities as shoe or car cleaners. Many get involved with the wrong people hoping to make a fast buck. In the big cities of Bolivia, the crime rate is steadily increasing - often drugs are involved.
Our aim is to give the children and the young people a new perspective meaningful leisure activities. Even young addicts have the opportunity to skate in the Pura Pura skatepark. Everyone should be able to participate, regardless of gender or socio-economic background.
skate-aid supports the Pura Pura Skatepark among others, Safety Gear, boards and hardware. In addition, we are looking for (along with the Voluntary Service "weltwärts") two volunteers who coordinate the day's program, maintain the facilities of skateparks and act as contacts for park and Kids.
