Help for Street Children in Nepal

About this project

The Himalayan Foundation Nepal is a non-profit organization which takes street children in and provides a better future for them. To date, 15 children have found a safe home where they get regular meals and the chance to go to school.
Even though education is compulsory, there are hardly any public schools in Nepal. Education becomes then a privilege to be exercised in private schools. A private school requires up to 40 USD per month. As the average monthly income of a Nepalese is between 100 to 150 USD, only a few families can afford to send their children to school for 12 years.
The purpose of Himalayan Foundation Nepal is to provide a better future for as many children as possible. To be able to accommodate and cater for more children we want to move into a bigger house, outside of Kathmandu. That would allow us to be more independent and shelter round about 50 street children. In this new home the children will have a big garden where they can play and we could plant our own rice.
Yet, our immediate goal is to cover the expenses the children produce at the moment to
so be able to shelter more children in our home.
We need the money
- to buy food and clothes
- to pay the school fee
- to give the children a garden to play in
- to provide a healthier and safer environment for more streetchildren
But to achieve this we must rely on donations.
Children are the future of any country, and without education there is no future for these children.
So we would kindly ask you for a small donation.Any amount would help us to reach our goal.
