About this project

Jens Steinigen from Athletes for Ukraine e.V. is responsible for this project
The Russian war of aggression is not only causing casualties on the front, but is also causing almost impossible problems inside the country. The area around the city of Charkiw is currently being bombarded by Russian incendiary bombs, leading to many forest fires. Due to a lack of rain and only a few fire engines, the fires are difficult or impossible to extinguish. In addition, there are targeted attacks by Russian drones on firefighters and their vehicles trying to put out the fires.
The people on the ground urgently need our support and solidarity!

We have found a fully equipped fire engine that we can buy for €15,000 and bring to Ukraine to help the people of Charkiw. Donate now and support us in our current project. Every euro counts!
The fire truck includes:
- 2000 liter water tank with pump
- 2 high-pressure hoses
- 5 tons cable winch
- Rescue shears and spreader
- light mast
- Power generator

Who are we at Athletes for Ukraine e.V.?

Sport connects! The aim of Athletes for Ukraine e.V. is to unite professional athletes, coaches, amateur athletes and fans worldwide, as well as anyone who wants to get involved against the war in Ukraine, in order to set an example together against the war in Ukraine and for peace. The protest against the war in Ukraine should be visible everywhere and at all times, especially at sporting events. In addition to this protest, the association shows solidarity by

- organizing aid transports - bringing relief supplies to Ukraine and refugees from there to safety;
- initiating targeted aid projects and campaigns for refugee children and families, e.g. to integrate refugee children into club sports;
- Ukrainian athletes who have had to flee the war are helped to find a new sporting home.

All in the spirit of the Olympic Movement to put sport at the service of humanity, thereby promoting peace and contributing to the creation of a peaceful and better world.

We deliver relief goods directly to Kharkiv or other areas, especially in the east of Ukraine, and distribute them on site by volunteers to the people who urgently need help. This supports, among other things, internally displaced people in Ukraine, hospitals, children's homes, old people and people with disabilities. We also work with Ukrainian aid organizations, such as the non-profit foundation SVITANOK UKRAINA, from whom we receive current information about the local situation and needs. This means we can specifically organize and send the help that is most urgently needed to Ukraine.
