Katja Grimm from Bildungsfestival e. V. is responsible for this project
50 young people, three days at Essen Youth Hostel, one mission: at the Education Festival 2024 from June 28 to 30, 2024, we want to show young people that they are the ones who have their future in their own hands. The education festival is taking place for the eighth time this year.
A team of volunteers develops the annual education festival together with the target group. Young people from disadvantaged schools experience three days full of exciting impulses, (socially) critical topics and opportunities for personal development and have a lot of fun together. The varied program includes themed workshops, team building, political discussions and free time to spend together. Together we create examples of sustainable and conscious coexistence in a diverse world!
For several years now, the Education Festival team has also included former participants who pass on their experiences. Our event has already helped to empower young people and change educational biographies.
Participation is free of charge to give young people, regardless of their economic background, the chance to learn new things and experience moments of self-efficacy. As a small association, we are therefore dependent on funding and donations to implement our project. The biggest cost item is the youth hostel, which is essential for the implementation of the education festival. That's why we need your support!
