Music, a path to peace

For 29 years, the Rocinha Music School has been more than just a place to learn instruments or singing. Rather, it is a space of peace and community where we build self-confidence and realize dreams. Our teachers are role models; good role models, in contrast to the drug lords who recruit children for their dirty businesses and promise quick money.  On the occasion of our 30th anniversary in June 2024, we want to launch a music competition for all children and young people in the approximately 300 favelas of Rio de Janeiro in order to get many more children excited about music. The preparations are already underway. The organization and implementation of the competition involves costs.
