Our women empowerment workshops: Stronger together for the future!
We at Smile for Children e.V. believe that education is the key to a self-determined future. That is why we have created our "Women Empowerment Project" to provide single mothers in Kenya with practical workshops that teach them skills that will give them opportunities on the labour market and thus create an independent income for families in need.
Our orientation workshop
In eight weeks, our participants are introduced to various topics as part of the "orientation workshop" in order to discover their personal interests and talents:
Week 1: Mental Health
Week 2: Conscious family planning and childcare
Week 3: Handmade crafts - jewellery making (making bracelets etc.)
Week 4: Cooking
Week 5: Basics of sewing
Week 6: Basics of hairdressing (hair care, braiding, hairdressing)
Week 7: Entrepreneurship and employment opportunities
Week 8: Coaching/Advanced Workshop
Your donation creates sustainable opportunities!
The first 12 women have already started our first orientation workshop and are highly motivated!
Now we need your support so that they can consolidate the knowledge they have acquired. With a donation of €100, you can enable a woman to take part in an orientation or advanced workshop. For €200, a woman can take part in both workshops and receive a start-up grant for her self-employment or to seek employment opportunities.
This includes the participation in our workshop and a food package for the woman and her children to ensure they are fed during the workshops. Every donation makes a difference! ♥️
Our waiting list for the workshops is still long - many women from low socio-economic backgrounds are still waiting for a place and are eager to learn and grow.

As a privately organised non-profit association, Smile for Children e.V. does not spend any money on administrative costs. All income that the organisation receives from donations is used locally in Kenya. This means that your aid reaches the women directly and can provide help immediately!
