MusicX - Sound perspectives for children and young people

Founded in Chemnitz in November 2021, the MusicX e.V. association is passionately committed to discovering and promoting the musical abilities of children and young people. The focus is particularly on children and young people from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Through a variety of projects such as the "Mobile Children's Rehearsal Room" and the "MusicX" rehearsal room for children and young people in the Musikkombinat, we create spaces for musical development.

The idea was born from the successful pilot project "Mobile Children's Rehearsal Room" in cooperation with Bandbüro Chemnitz e.V. since 2016. During the 2020 pandemic, the need for a more in-depth space became clear, which led to the creation of the "MusicX" project. Here, children and young people, regardless of their social and financial background, can deepen their musical interests in a sustainable way without the obligations of a music school.

MusicX e.V. is also involved in daycare centers and school projects to make musical education accessible to generally disadvantaged children and young people. After numerous successful projects, MusicX e.V. was founded as an independent non-profit association in March 2022 due to increasing demand. Our aim is to holistically strengthen the musical education and support of children and young people in Chemnitz and the surrounding area.
