The upcoming winter will be very harsh for people in Ukraine. Due to Russia's deliberate destruction of the energy infrastructure, large parts of Ukraine are without power, water, and heating. Putin is trying to break the resistance of the Ukrainian civilian population. Therefore, #KeepUkraineWarm - share your warmth with Ukraine!
According to the Ukrainian government, about 30% of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure was destroyed during the 9 days of intense bombardment by Russia. The winter of 2022-23 will certainly be one of the most difficult in the history of Ukraine. The destruction of the energy supply due to shelling, lack of money, and insufficient gas volumes is a major cause of the terrible suffering of the people living in Ukraine. This can be fatal for many.
Currently, residents of all regions of the country are exposed to military terror (as shown on Monday, October 10, 2022); the danger of shelling power plants, whether electricity or heat, is currently particularly high. Russia is trying to maximize the suffering of the population with this.
In this context, it is also important to mention many destroyed cities.
Rocket attacks are not the only difficulty. Due to the Russian war of aggression and the resulting lack of gas supplies (including from its own production), Ukraine has problems in storing sufficient gas reserves for the winter.
An important factor for the uninterrupted operation of the heating season is the uninterrupted operation of the thermal supply systems. Prolonged cold periods can completely paralyze the Ukrainian energy system, which has already lost a number of power plants due to military aggression. Under war conditions, the state and citizens are in a situation where the usual social and economic approaches to solving the impending catastrophe are no longer sufficient.
So, with a small donation, you can save lives:
We are announcing a donation campaign to meet the needs of the civilian population in cold seasons, for the corresponding equipment (sleeping bags, thermal mats for sleeping bags, thermal underwear as well as gas stoves, camping stoves, canned food, small wood stoves, power banks).
We, the German-Ukrainian Dialogue Association, will purchase the required items, collect and arrange transport to the most affected regions (including Kharkiv).
Together we save lives! Donate! Let's keep Ukraine warm together!
