    About this project

    M. Oldorff from Kamerun Kultur Verein e.V is responsible for this project
    Pygmies
The Pygmies are the original inhabitants of the forests of Cameroon and form a socially and economically marginalised minority.
Most anthropological studies speak of three ethnic groups.
The Pygmies lived for a long time without contact with the outside world. They lived among themselves and in the protection of the forest, which was their habitat, their spiritual mother and their source of food, i.e. they fished, hunted and gathered.

In the last 40 years, however, the region from Lolodorf to Bipindi has been intensively logged, penetrating deeper and deeper into the forest. This industrial logging threatens the lives and survival of the Pygmies.

The Cameroonian Cultural Association at Galenstr 7 in Berlin Spandau, in cooperation with Universal Human Development (UHD), has already collected numerous donations in kind in Germany, more precisely in Berlin and Hamburg, i.e. urgently needed things for the children such as blankets, sleeping bags and bedding, clothes, toys and shoes. As we had planned numerous training courses for the young pygmies and orphans, we received tools and materials of all kinds for DIY, masonry and carpentry work, as well as sewing machines and fabrics so that they can survive on their own. After all this collecting, we have a very strong desire to get the container to Cameroon as soon as possible, more precisely to the port of Douala, from where our partner will take it out to transport it by road from Lolo village to Tschangue, 28 km from the town of Ebolowa.

. Our partner, Mr Jean Patrick, Chairman of the UHD Association, will ensure that the in-kind donations also reach the poverty stricken Pygmy and orphaned children by giving them the opportunity to help themselves by putting together a team to use the materials from the container to support the education of the young Pygmies.
We need your support to get the container to Cameroon
