Die Stromversorgung in Malawi ist sehr unzuverlässig. Aktuell sind die Stromausfälle häufiger und länger denn je. Das stellt das Projekt vor große, existenzielle Herausforderungen, da Strom in den Abläufen der Ausbildung unerlässlich ist. Um die Ausbildung der Schneiderinnen kontinuierlich gewährleisten zu können müssen wir deshalb dringend eine Notstromversorgung installieren. Dafür brauchen wir deine Hilfe!

Um im gesamten Projekt eine Notstromversorgung installieren zu können brauchen wir 800 €. Dann ist das Projekt unabhängig vom Stromnetz, kann sich jederzeit mit ausreichend Strom versorgen und die Ausbildung der Schneiderinnen muss nicht mehr unterbrochen werden.
Damit die Existenz des Projektes nicht weiterhin gefährdet ist brauchen wir jetzt dringend deine Unterstützung. Mit deiner Spende trägst du dazu bei, dass wir die Notstromversorgung sicherstellen können.
Alex, unser Projektleiter in Malawi hat für dich aus malawischer Perspektive geschildert, warum deine Hilfe so wichtig ist:
Greetings all from warm Malawi,
my name is Alexander Kumcheza, currently working with Taste of Malawi, as a coordinator in Malawi. Recently, our country has faced a lot of challenges in power to poor people, this has happened because of poor and old infrastructure and also high demand for power. This has affected a lot of business, including our school and production workshop, each and every day there is a schedule for load shedding, mostly a lot of load shedding is 8 hours minimum and to make it worse these are common during the day. Our project depends much on electricity, more especially the production workshop. Most of the time our production requires iron during production and also we normally use electric cutting knives for cutting our fabrics. On other hand, this has also affected our reporting and communication between Germany and Malawi, where most of our work depends on computers and cell phones, but most of the times when we have no power it is difficult to work. However, we are looking for means to keep having power at our workshop and we have resolved to have a power backup system, our idea is to have user and environmental friendly system as we will have a UPS system, which has batteries. This system will be able to provide us with power for about 8 hours plus. This means during the time when we have power the grid will be charging the batteries and then we will be using the stored power during power cut. We hope to get this system as it has also proven to be reliable and cheap as well, hence improving our workshop production and also our office more especially in communication, as this is a key to our project.
