No room for racism

A project from Freie Schule Essen e.V.
in Essen, Germany

With this project we want to bring children closer to different languages and cultures. We will cook together, do handicrafts and get to know languages that are unfamiliar to us. We want to break down prejudices and get to know other cultures.

About this project

The institution of Freie Schule Essen e.V. is attended by many children from different countries of origin. Their languages, cultures and skin colors are diverse. Therefore, we would like to promote an exchange between the cultures with this project.

Together we want to set a sign against racism and for tolerance!

With the help of your donation, we will design a world map and mark the children's countries of origin. Then we will work out the special features of the cultures and discuss them in the group. We will also recreate favorite dishes and typical specialties of the individual countries. We want to learn simple words or short sentences of the different languages together. It is important to us to work preventively so that prejudices and hatred do not arise in the first place. We would also like to get to the bottom of questions that children often ask, such as "Why are there different skin colors?

For this project we meet weekly over a period of about 3 months. About 10 meetings are planned
