About this project

Siegbert Garisch from UBU e.V. is responsible for this project
Mercy (4) lives with her parents in Kabale, southwest Uganda, in an emergency shelter for people with disabilities. Her parents are largely destitute. Mercy can neither stand nor walk.

Doctors recommend orthopedic surgery at the youngest possible age.
The surgery/treatment will cost €3,000. Her parents cannot afford this.

General health insurance does not exist in Uganda.

Mercy needs our help, and yours! Help overcome the consequences of her congenital disability.

Mercy is just one example. She could also be called Annelin, Sunday, or Jeremiah. They have all had foot deformities or dysfunctions in their extremities since birth... all of which can cause severe disabilities. Here in Europe, these deformities are "surgically removed or treated." But unfortunately, not in Uganda. Medical options are available, but there is no health, pension, or other insurance that covers the costs.
