About this project

Together with the local organization "Bali Caring Community", shared purpose e.V. is collecting donations to help alleviate the food shortages on the Indonesian island of Bali in particular, which occurred during the Corona pandemic.

The Bali Caring Community (BCC) is a dedicated group of concerned citizens who have come together to take action and address specific community-based issues affecting the people of Bali. Not all Balinese benefit from the positive effects of tourism - especially those living in remote areas are in need of support. Shared purpose e.V. and BCC are all about sharing our good fortune and giving back to the community and disadvantaged groups - the Rice Sharing Program was introduced for this purpose:

The program started on April 1, 2021 during the Corona Pandamia and has been held regularly every month since then.

Rice distribution areas: Karangasem, Nusa Penida Klungkung, Jembrana and Buleleng.
Beneficiaries: 1 district is selected every month.
In addition, 20 underprivileged families are selected per district to receive special assistance. The rice aid distributed each month is for 20 families x 4 districts = 80 families.
Each month a different district is selected, the aid is not carried out in the same district.
The aid is provided in the form of 5 kg of rice per family.
The aid is distributed door-to-door by BCC volunteers directly in the homes of the residents.
Started with BCC volunteers distributing relief goods in the four areas mentioned above. There are plans to expand to other areas, but this will require additional supplies and volunteers.

Why only 5 kg of rice?

Given the limited resources, the BCC have chosen to provide aid to as many needy people as possible with as little resources as necessary. The existence and continuity of this rice distribution program relies heavily on the support of donations. With your help, it is possible that the scope of assistance, the number of recipients of assistance, and the distribution area of assistance can be expanded depending on future developments.
