The Ixtatan Foundation works with the Asociacion INHAT, of San Mateo Ixtatan, Guatemala. Together we built the very first high school in the Chuj speaking area of the Guatemalan highlands. The school opened its doors in 2005 and now has over 200 students in the Seeds of Knowledge (Semillas de la Sabiduria in Spanish and Yinhatil Nab'en in Chuj) School. Our goal is to educate as many future leaders as possible in the best education possible so that they will be well equipped to forge the future of their own community. In addition to the high school, there are several other projects, such as a ceramic water purifier production, an organic farm, a restaurant and an internet lab for the students. Anotehr important project is the Wajxklajunh Scholarship program for local students to study at the college level.
