Glona Healthcare and Vocational

managed by W. Annang

About us

When a poor mother came to Lydia Odoley Glover for help, distraught because she could not afford to educate her children, she did not hesitate in reaching out to her. She enlisted the help of her two sons William and Daniel Annang, and under the watchful eye of their mother the two young men began to teach the two children at their family home in the heart of Labadi.

It was from those humble beginnings in 1997 that Glona Healthcare and Vocational Academy was born. As word of what the families were doing spread and more children came to them for help, the family realised that they would have to expand and develop to cater for the needy in their community. By taking letters from their mother's surname (Glover) and their father's surname (Annang), their venture was given a name: Glona.

Glona now exists as a registered NGO to cater for the needs of poor communities by offering education for children and raising awareness about health issues such as HIV/AIDS, personal and food hygiene, and disease prevention and control. By the simple and caring act of helping the poor mother, Lydia Glover laid the foundations for the Glona vision: to bring hope and healing to the poor

Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.

Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes

Thanks for your support,
the betterplace.org-team
