Who we are
Breaking the Ice started with a simple idea: What if you would build a team that initially relates to each other through their differences rather than their similarities? How would members of such a team act with one another when they had agreed on a joint goal? The first peace journey to Antarctica was a massive success in terms of media awareness, recognition by peers and a 90 minute documentary. The journey of an olive tree in 2006 turned out to be an even bigger adventure in terms of logistics and management.
The project/s in Mozambique are a "pivot" in that with earlier projects the media followed the message (to overcome violent conflict through finding common ground by joint experiences). Now, the role of media to deliver results is in focus - driving the spread of messages such as the virtuous circle between economic development and hygiene, as in SHINE.

Liebe Spender,
bei Projekten, bei denen Spendengelder über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg nicht angefordert wurden, sehen das Gesetz und unsere Nutzungsbedingungen vor, dass die Spenden von der gut.org gemeinnützigen AG (Betreiberin von betterplace.org) zeitnah für deren satzungsmäßige Zwecke verwendet werden müssen.
Deshalb setzen wir die noch nicht verwendeten Spendengelder für diese Zwecke ein
