ensemble mini e.V.

managed by J G.

About us

A project-based mini-orchestra founded in 2010 by Joolz Gale and academists from the Berliner Philharmoniker, "ensemble mini" comprises of young players from Germany's best orchestras to perform big symphonic music in mini ways. Consisting of up to 20 players, each project explores as an orchestra of soloists a major composer or theme, which often includes newly commissioned transcriptions, following the tradition of Schoenberg's Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen, Wien (1918-21).

The ensemble has received much critical acclaim, most notably for its "mini-Mahler" project at Philharmonie Berlin and Auditorio Nacional Madrid. It has also featured widely on media platforms such as 3sat Kulturzeit, ZDF Aspekte, Deutschlandradio Kultur, WDR, RBB and DLF. Its future plans include explorations of Shostakovich and Brahms as well as the continuation of its residency at STATTBAD Berlin with "Strauss 150: New Perspectives".

Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.

Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes

Thanks for your support,
the betterplace.org-team
