About us

Point of Grace Community Development Initiative (PGCDI) is a registered non profit Christian community based organization that was formed from Zion Craft group which had been in existence since 2007.Zion Craft group was a project started with the main aim of training its members in crafts making as a way of enabling them meet their daily needs through selling crafts. The crafts include beads, necklaces, bracelets, earrings,bags, bowls/baskets, belts all made from papers.
However, due to increasing poverty levels and limited market, the sales of the crafts have not been sufficient to cater for all the pressing need Together with other members in the community, PGCDI was therefore born out of this group to fight poverty and improve on the standard of living of marginalized individuals in Munyegera zone, Buwenge Sub County, Jinja district.
PGCDI deals with several marginalized groups in the community. These include both men and women, orphans and other Vulnerable children.
OUR OBJECTIVES
•Create, trains and avails the marginalized with Income Generating Activities that improve on household income and enhance the standard of living.
•Encourages environmental conservation and protection through training, empowering and helping the community to adopt cheaper, environmentally friendly self sustaining sources of energy.
•Empower the marginalized through provision of quality information and psycho-social support to greatly enhance their psychological wellbeing.
•Provide support to orphans and children in need by providing shelter, food, clothing and educational assistance.
•Networking with other organizations that front a similar cause.
•Influence policy makers to be more responsible and pay greater attention to the several needs of the marginalized (widows, orphans and other disadvantaged Organizations especially those from very poor backgrounds)
