About us

OpenAid is a non-for-profit association based in Hannover, Germany promoting transparency and social accountability in development cooperation. We lobby the German government to publish detailed information (financial flows, project documents, contact persons, evaluations) about German aid so that citizens in the North and the South can hold it to account. We are convinced that transparency improves aid effectiveness, curbs corruption and waste and facilitates citizens participation.
