About us

Toonda Cultural Community Center is dedicated to uplifting the rural communities of Uganda through our three main pillars: Women Empowerment, Education, and Arts & Culture. Join us in our mission to create a sustainable and inclusive future.

Since 2018, the Toonda Cultural Community Center has been committed to empowering the people of Kyakataama through education, women's empowerment, and cultural activities. We have established a library as a hub for community and exchange, built a volunteer house, and created a theater stage as well as spaces for sports and recreation. These facilities provide local communities with opportunities to come together, learn, and grow. Every week, approximately 250 people gather in the library to meet in self-organized groups, study, conduct research, and support one another.
